Script

Round 2

Frodo, Pi and Harold simultaneously awoke from a peaceful sleep; to a crashing boom from what they thought was a devastating earthquake. After conquering the challenges they were each faced with, and growing as an individual, they were nowhere close to the finish line of their journey.

Pi: Where am I? Harold and Frodo! What are you doing here?

Harold: Beats me.

Frodo: I couldn’t tell you either, but I could tell you I don’t feel very comfortable in these new surroundings.

Karen Eiffel: Gandalf and I decided to bring you together.

Harold: For a fun gathering?

Frodo: Oh that is a good idea!

Pi: Agreed. A celebration of our success and accomplishments!

Karen Eiffel: Not quite. We certainly have acknowledged the growth in each and every one of you as an individual though. You each surprised yourselves by finding strengths you never knew you had, and we are all extremely proud of you.

Frodo: So why don’t we take a break and relax? Enjoy a day or two with no stress?

Karen Eiffel: Well what good would that do you? What would you learn by staying in a familiar environment you know all too well?

Harold: She does state an awfully good point guys, change is good. Trust me.

Karen Eiffel: Of course I do. I’ve had many ideas lately, and one magnificent epiphany. I started to write a new book, and you three are already my main characters. The question if you would like to be a part of my book is already irrelevant. You each will be placed in a situation where one of you has already conquered.

Pi: Alright, I’m in. If I can survive a ship wreck, stranded at sea for 227 days with a Bengal tiger, I’m pretty confident I can overcome anything.

Frodo:… I’ll follow you guys. Lead the way!

Karen Eiffel: Ohhh not too fast! You see, all three of you have also struggled with a common weakness. After challenges were thrown your way, you all sat down and waited for somebody else to come rescue you like some kind of damsel in distress. Life doesn’t work that way, especially in my books. The only person you can save yourself is you. Ana Pascal, Richard Parker, or Sam won’t be accompanying you on your new journey. I will allow you to share advice among each other for the remaining time we have together, but in 10 minutes when the clock strikes two, you’re on your own. Go ahead.

Harold: The most important lesson I learned, don’t let anyone or anything define who you are. It’s your life, and you can do whatever you want with it. Do not stress or overreact, and if you have the courage to be able to face your fears, you will be able to make it through.

Pi: Well, whoever happens to take my place, make use of everything you have. Never lose sight of your objective, and remember why you’re there. Find faith in something that encourages you, and don’t judge a book by its cover. Archetypes aren’t always accurate, and they certainly can be broken.

Frodo: I guess Karen was right; all our weaknesses are extremely similar. Have faith, courage and trust that you can do what you need to achieve.

The echoing sound of a drum filled the air.

Karen Eiffel: Times is up! Gandalf and I wish the best of luck to all three of you. Here’s your final piece of advice that will always be valuable; never underestimate your ability to do great things. Farewell.

Reflection: This assignment allowed my abillity to understand and appreciate textual forms, elements, and techniques, shine through. (Outcome 2.2) I was also able to use reference strategies, and use common themese and breaking archetypes that I have regonized throughout the year.I experimented with the different writing structure in this assignment, which at first was a struggle for me, but I overcame it. I discovered new possibilities to approach my work, and after reflecting on this assignment, I once again, feel accomplished and ready for 30-1.
